Kris D. Burbank

Kris D. Burbank is a native New England/New Yorker, but has lived for over 20 years in Birmingham. Mr. Burbank graduated from the State University of New York at Oneonta (B.A. Dietetics, 1997), then interned at Yale New Haven Hospital. In 2002 he left his position as a renal dietitian in Burlington, Vermont, and arrived in Birmingham where he attended the Birmingham School of Law (J.D., 2005). After graduating law school, he practiced with the insurance defense firm with whom he had clerked throughout law school, eventually “switching sides” to focus on representing injury victims in 2008.

With more than 15 years of experience in handling worker’s compensation cases, Mr. Burbank has provided solid advice and wise counsel to individuals and companies alike. He has significant experience and focus on assisting injured workers through the unfair and inequitable legal minefield that is the Alabama Workers' Compensation Act. Mr. Burbank has also handled a variety of personal injury claims, social security disability/SSI claims, collections cases, and has served as a Guardian Ad Litem for children in a non-profit setting. Known by the insurance industry and its lawyers as a strong advocate for his clients, regardless of their background, Mr. Burbank holds firm in his belief that the best way to spend our time on this earth is in service to others.

Away from the office, Kris enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Emily, a practicing divorce attorney, and their two rescued Himalayan cats. Among his favorite pastimes are rooting for all Boston sports, and pulling for Penn State's football team, all of which spark lively conversation at work!
